Requirements
- Deep professional experience writing production services at scale.
- Strong distributed systems fundamentals: replication, consistency, partitioning, fault tolerance.
- Experience designing/operating systems for high-traffic, high-availability, or multi-tenant environments.
- Professional experience building/consuming gRPC/protobuf APIs.
- Strong database skills (PostgreSQL and/or MySQL) including schema design and query optimization.
- Experience with large-scale CI/CD systems and build tooling.
- Comfort working with Kubernetes and containerized deployment environments.
- Experience with observability tooling (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, structured logging, distributed tracing).
- Familiarity with dependency injection patterns (e.g., Google Wire).
Responsibilities
- Hiring and developing the best engineers to build the future of Grafana.
- Architecting and implementing distributed backend services in Go.
- Designing APIs and service contracts for enterprise operators.
- Collaborating with Product and UX to ship complete, end-to-end solutions.
- Driving scalability and reliability improvements for large-scale operators.
- Engaging directly with large enterprise customers and cloud service providers.
- Owning the operational health of the platform through on-call rotations.
