Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- Minimum eight years of commercial property and casualty underwriting experience.
- Staff underwriting experience preferred.
- Insurance designations (AU, CIC, or CPCU) preferred.
- Excellent knowledge of countrywide underwriting techniques, policies, and forms.
- Strong underwriting judgment and decision-making skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven problem-solving abilities.
- Valid driver’s license.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with people leader to execute company underwriting framework.
- Implement strategic product and underwriting strategies within assigned industry segment.
- Create and communicate best practices and underwriting guidance.
- Analyze premium and loss data to ensure long-term profitable growth.
- Develop new product ideas and draft coverage language.
- Evaluate underwriting risks and provide guidance to regional teams.
- Conduct quality control and audit assessments on new and renewal business.
- Prepare and lead underwriting training workshops and seminars.
