Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active membership in at least one U.S. state bar.
- 2+ years of relevant legal experience in a technology company or law firm.
- Experience negotiating SaaS, data licensing, and enterprise commercial agreements.
- Strong business judgment and ability to balance legal risk with commercial objectives.
- Clear communication skills to translate legal concepts into business guidance.
- Knowledge of data privacy, information security, and compliance in SaaS.
- Familiarity with AI-related legal considerations like IP and data rights.
- Proficiency with contract management systems and AI-enabled legal tools.
- Strong project management and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Independently review, draft, and negotiate a high volume of complex commercial agreements.
- Partner with Sales and Revenue leadership to structure deals aligning with company risk tolerance.
- Advise internal stakeholders on legal, financial, and operational risk in commercial transactions.
- Provide guidance on privacy and data protection laws such as GDPR and CCPA/CPRA.
- Support Security and Product teams with data protection and information security questionnaires.
- Advise on legal considerations for AI-enabled products and internal AI usage.
- Develop internal AI governance policies and risk assessment frameworks.
- Improve legal templates, playbooks, and contract lifecycle management (CLM) processes.
