Requirements
- Degree in Anthropology or related field.
- Knowledge of Texan cultural resources.
- Archaeological monitoring experience on construction sites.
- Archaeological survey experience.
- Reliable transportation with clean driving record.
- Ability to use stop work authority.
- Meet the Secretary of the Interior’s professional qualifications standards.
- RPA status or eligible to become an RPA.
- Strong experience on federal government projects at the Texas-Mexico border.
Responsibilities
- Identify and target locations of sensitive cultural resources and mark buffer zones.
- Adhere to project health and safety plans.
- Prepare daily and weekly cultural resource monitoring summaries, photo-documentation, and maps.
- Conduct archaeological monitoring and surveys in accordance with research design.
- Recognize archaeological signatures and evaluate resources.
- Maintain organized field notes, maps, drawings, and logs.
- Perform daily quality control of field data.
- Use GPS, iPad, and other navigational equipment for fieldwork documentation.
- Collaborate with environmental monitors and construction crews.
