Requirements
- Deep knowledge of US brokerage tax reporting including 1099 production and cost basis regulations.
- Experience surviving at least one full tax season at a broker-dealer or clearing firm.
- Proven track record in Product Management or technical program management in fintech or brokerage.
- Hands-on experience managing third-party tax or financial technology vendors.
- Ability to coordinate across Engineering, Operations, Compliance, and Legal.
- Technical fluency in data systems, file formats (IRS schemas, FIRE format), and system design.
Responsibilities
- Drive product roadmap for IRS reporting including 1099-B, 1099-DIV, 1099-INT, 1099-MISC, and 1042-S.
- Manage relationships and performance of tax technology vendors.
- Build and track cross-functional tax season calendars across Engineering, Operations, and Compliance.
- Extend tax infrastructure to support new asset classes and account types.
- Partner with engineering on upstream data ingestion and database architecture.
- Design and launch internal monitoring tools for real-time visibility into filing statuses and error rates.
