- Fluency with or ability to independently learn specialized packages (e.g., ObsPy, instaseis, pyrocko, MITgcm, flopy/MODFLOW, GeoPandas).
- Ability to design problems requiring specialized solvers.
- Strong written English (C1+).
Responsibilities
- Design computational material science problems verifiable by code.
- Utilize specialized tools such as ObsPy, instaseis, pyrocko, MITgcm, flopy/MODFLOW, or GeoPandas.
- Write Python reference solutions and define domain-appropriate tolerances for correctness.
- Test problems against AI models in parallel batches.
- Calibrate problem difficulty to achieve a 10–30% pass rate.
- Iterate on waveform scenarios, inversion parameters, and solver tolerances based on AI performance.
- Collaborate with senior reviewers to ensure task quality.
