- Experience
- 8+ years of legal experience (law firm and/or in-house); 10+ years preferred
Requirements
- 8+ years of legal experience in commercial contracting and transaction support
- JD (or equivalent) and active bar membership in at least one US jurisdiction
- Proven experience partnering with Sales teams and leading complex negotiations
- Strong commercial judgment and risk management skills
- Experience in fintech, payments, or consumer finance
- Experience partnering with Product and Engineering teams
- Ability to develop contract playbooks and templates
- Experience with AI-enabled legal tools or CLM systems
Responsibilities
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial agreements, including merchant, partner, marketing, and vendor agreements
- Act as a strategic legal partner to Sales on deal structure and risk trade-offs
- Lead negotiations with sophisticated counterparties
- Advise Product, Engineering, and business stakeholders on US market regulatory requirements
- Provide guidance on consumer financial services and payments regulatory frameworks
- Partner with Risk and Compliance to mitigate regulatory risk
- Develop scalable contracting solutions (playbooks, templates)
- Leverage AI-enabled tools for contract lifecycle management
