  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience required.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in premium audit, insurance operations, or a related insurance field.
  • At least 8 years of workers’ compensation experience required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive leadership experience managing large, complex teams and operational functions.
  • Expert-level knowledge of premium audit principles, NCCI systems, workers’ compensation regulations, and state bureau compliance requirements.
  • Strong experience leading organizational transformation, process improvement, and operational change management initiatives.
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, allocate resources strategically, and optimize operational performance.
  • Exceptional communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Experience with data analytics tools, process automation technologies, and operational reporting preferred.
  • Professional insurance certifications such as CPCU, ARe, FLMI, or similar designations are preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the transformation and modernization of the Premium Audit department, implementing new operational models, scalable processes, and technology-driven improvements to enhance efficiency and service delivery.
  • Develop and execute strategic premium audit initiatives aligned with organizational goals, ensuring operational excellence, compliance, and customer satisfaction across all audit activities.
  • Oversee multi-level leadership teams, including senior managers, managers, team leads, and audit specialists, while fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and professional development.
  • Partner cross-functionally with underwriting, product, technology, finance, and business development teams to align audit strategies with enterprise-wide initiatives and growth objectives.
  • Establish and monitor departmental KPIs related to audit quality, productivity, backlog reduction, customer experience, compliance, and operational performance.
  • Manage vendor relationships, external audit partnerships, and bureau interactions to ensure high-quality service delivery and cost-effective operations.
  • Drive process innovation and technology adoption through automation, analytics, and operational optimization initiatives that improve audit accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, bureau standards, and workers’ compensation guidelines across multiple jurisdictions.
  • Lead leadership development, succession planning, and training initiatives that support long-term departmental growth and capability building.
