Requirements
- 5+ years of people leadership experience.
- Strong background in data infrastructure and/or data platforms.
- Solid understanding of RDBMS, NoSQL, and analytics ecosystems.
- Public cloud experience (AWS and/or GCP).
- Familiarity with modern engineering stacks (Python/Golang).
- Experience with automation, APIs, and infrastructure-as-code (IaC).
- Experience modernizing data infrastructure teams from reactive operations to proactive platform engineering.
- Ability to adapt communication style for individual contributors, leaders, and executives.
- High sense of ownership and curiosity.
- Strong commitment to operational excellence.
Responsibilities
- Set technical strategy and operating model for the database platform team.
- Evolve function into a modern platform engineering team delivering self-service, automation-first capabilities.
- Develop engineering talent through mentoring and coaching.
- Partner with product engineering, analytics, AI, and security teams.
- Create reliable 'paved roads' for relational and NoSQL workloads.
- Drive measurable improvements in developer experience, reliability, security, and cost efficiency.
- Reduce manual work and handoffs through modern tooling and AI-assisted workflows.
- Raise the bar on modern AI-assisted SDLC practices.
