Requirements
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with Citrix Virtual Apps and Desktops (XenApp/XenDesktop) in large-scale, multi-site enterprise environments.
- Expert-level understanding of Citrix logon architecture, including session startup, brokering, HDX, authentication, GPO processing, and profile loading phases.
- Strong expertise in Windows Group Policy (GPO) design, troubleshooting, and performance optimization in Citrix environments.
- Experience with performance monitoring and diagnostic tools such as Citrix Director, Wireshark, Azure Log Analytics, and Power BI.
- Strong analytical skills with ability to correlate multi-source data (logs, telemetry, dashboards) to identify complex root causes.
- Experience with FSLogix, Citrix profile management, HDX optimization, and enterprise session tuning is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in scripting (PowerShell or Python) for automation, configuration analysis, and data extraction.
- Familiarity with Azure-hosted Citrix environments, networking concepts, and enterprise proxy configurations (WPAD, auto-proxy).
- Experience mentoring engineers and documenting technical findings into scalable processes or playbooks.
- Citrix CCE-V certification or equivalent deep expertise is a strong plus.
Responsibilities
- Lead deep technical investigations into Citrix logon and session performance issues, analyzing all phases of the logon process to identify root causes across complex enterprise environments.
- Perform advanced diagnostics using Citrix Director, Wireshark, Azure Log Analytics, Power BI, and other monitoring tools to correlate data and uncover systemic performance bottlenecks.
- Analyze and optimize Windows Group Policy (GPO) configurations impacting Citrix environments, ensuring alignment with best practices and minimizing logon delays.
- Investigate network, authentication, profile, and HDX-related performance issues, including proxy/WPAD behavior, drive mapping, and session startup inefficiencies.
- Design and maintain diagnostic methodologies, playbooks, and runbooks to standardize troubleshooting and improve engineering efficiency across teams.
- Mentor and support other systems engineers by sharing expertise, reviewing complex cases, and elevating overall technical capability.
- Leverage AI and automation tools to analyze configuration data, identify patterns, and accelerate root cause identification across large datasets.
