Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in data or software engineering.
- 2+ years in a leadership role managing engineering teams.
- Strong experience designing and scaling enterprise data platforms.
- Deep expertise in semantic modeling and data sharing.
- Hands-on experience with dbt and semantic frameworks like MetricFlow.
- Strong proficiency in Snowflake and advanced SQL.
- Familiarity with Apache Spark, Python, and Snowpark.
- Strong operational experience owning production systems (incident management, on-call).
- Solid understanding of CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions).
- Experience with data observability tools such as DataDog or Monte Carlo.
Responsibilities
- Lead and mentor a team of 5+ data engineers, fostering a culture of ownership and psychological safety.
- Define and drive the technical vision for the data platform, with a focus on scalable architecture and semantic layer design.
- Oversee platform reliability, performance optimization, and query efficiency.
- Partner with product managers and architecture teams to translate business requirements into technical roadmaps.
- Own operational excellence including monitoring, alerting, incident response, and on-call processes.
- Establish engineering standards for CI/CD, data governance, data quality, and access control.
- Guide technical initiatives such as semantic modeling, data mesh patterns, and observability improvements.
