Requirements
- 1 - 4 years of experience in community organizing, grassroots advocacy, or related nonprofit work.
- Experience supporting community-led campaigns or coalitions.
- Demonstrated ability to build relationships and engage people across diverse communities.
- Demonstrated interest in environmental justice, climate, or industrial/pollution-related issues.
- Strong communication skills with ability to actively listen.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Willingness and ability to travel within Texas.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends.
Responsibilities
- Build and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with grassroots partners, community members, and local stakeholders across the Texas Gulf Coast.
- Conduct regular partner outreach and 1:1 check-ins to stay aligned on campaign priorities and local needs.
- Support partners in identifying organizing opportunities connected to active projects, permitting processes, and key decision-making moments.
- Support implementation of campaign strategies across priority regions on the Texas Coast.
- Translate campaign goals into organizing activities and support partners in planning and executing outreach, events, trainings, and actions.
- Coordinate with internal teams (communications, research, legal, and grants) to align field efforts with broader campaign strategy.
- Gather insights from partners and communities to inform campaign strategy.
- Track organizing activities, partner engagement, and campaign milestones using internal tools and systems.
