Requirements
- Must be certified through AAPC (CPC or COC) or AHIMA (CCS or CCS-P).
- Minimum 6 months of on-the-job experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Outlook.
- Working knowledge of EMR and billing systems.
- Must have a reliable internet connection and coding materials (CPT/ICD-10-CM).
- Ability to communicate effectively and professionally.
- Ability to analyze, observe, and meet deadlines.
Responsibilities
- Provide CPT, HCPCS and ICD-10-CM coding for 1-4 specialties.
- Calculate ProFee and/or Facility E/M levels using company algorithm.
- Recognize critical care cases by patient acuity.
- Code surgical procedures to capture revenue.
- Apply ICD-10-CM diagnosis codes to the highest level of specificity.
- Interpret coding guidelines for accurate code assignment.
- Maintain 95% productivity and accuracy levels.
- Participate in company-provided training and education.
