Requirements
- 5+ years experience as a backend engineer
- Bachelor's degree or 7+ years relevant experience
- Experience with AWS cloud native databases (Aurora, MySQL, Postgres)
- Experience with NoSQL databases (DynamoDB or MongoDB)
- Knowledge of high availability, disaster recovery, and distributed systems
- Experience with IaC and automation (Terraform, AWS Step Function)
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
- Proficiency in Python
- Experience with Linux and shell scripting
- Proficiency with monitoring/observability tools (Datadog)
Responsibilities
- Participate in 24x7 on-call rotation for database services
- Contribute to technical vision for maintenance and cloud migration
- Design high availability and disaster recovery solutions
- Work on platform architecture, database partitioning, and sharding
- Automate database lifecycle management to reduce manual work
- Collaborate with engineering teams to execute technical vision
- Conduct root cause analysis and documentation
- Write design documents and articulate technical trade-offs
- Maintain monitoring and alerting practices
- Mentor junior engineers
