Requirements
- Oil & gas technical documentation experience (reviewing, authoring, or maintaining SOPs/procedures, standards, or regulatory-facing documentation)
- Solid working knowledge of at least one relevant regulatory framework (for example AER, OGC, API Recommended Practices, OSHA PSM 29 CFR 1910.119, or equivalent)
- Strong attention to detail and a consistent, methodical approach to high-volume document comparison and review
- Clear written communication skills (ability to write defect reports and review commentary)
- Comfort using document management systems and/or issue tracking tools
Responsibilities
- Verify AI-reformatted SOPs through side-by-side comparison with source procedures to ensure nothing is omitted, altered, paraphrased, reordered, or truncated
- Confirm every step, warning, caution, note, reference, and supplemental section is preserved accurately in the output
- Validate procedure structure and usability against HPOG Best Practice in Procedure Formatting
- Review readability and operational clarity from the perspective of a field operator or technician
- Log defects with precise, actionable detail and clear references to both source and output locations
- Review AI-generated regulatory compliance flags to confirm they are accurate, relevant, and mapped to the correct requirement
- Evaluate AI-generated compliance suggestions to ensure they are technically sound and operationally appropriate
- Cross-check new or revised corporate standards/policies against the client’s internal policy library
- Perform regression testing after platform updates to confirm formatting conformance and compliance quality
- Track error patterns and partner with product/engineering to prioritize improvements
