Requirements
- 2+ years of experience in client service, customs brokerage, logistics, or related operational support roles.
- Knowledge of customs regulations, procedures, and Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) classifications.
- Experience handling import/export documentation, billing, and trade compliance processes.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with clients and internal teams.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks.
- Proficiency in Windows-based systems and standard business applications.
- Ability to work independently while contributing effectively in a team environment.
- Customer-first mindset with strong attention to detail and accountability.
- High school diploma required; associate degree or equivalent post-secondary education preferred.
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, ensuring timely and effective resolution of both general and complex issues.
- Investigate and resolve root causes of client issues to prevent recurrence and improve service quality.
- Manage client relationships by monitoring satisfaction, identifying risks, and highlighting opportunities for improvement or growth.
- Respond to inquiries related to import documentation, permits, classifications, billing, invoicing, and customs release information.
- Handle complex trade-related issues including HS classification errors, duty and tax questions, and customs compliance matters.
- Process credits, rebills, refunds, and amendments in accordance with established guidelines.
- Escalate unresolved issues appropriately and collaborate with internal teams to ensure client satisfaction.
- Conduct trade compliance verification and support audit-related activities as required.
- Maintain accurate documentation of all client interactions in internal systems.
- Support continuous improvement by identifying process inefficiencies and recommending solutions.
