Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
- 10+ years of experience in software development and architecture.
- At least 5 years in a solutions architect or lead architect role.
- Proven experience designing and implementing enterprise-scale systems.
- Deep understanding of enterprise architecture principles (modular design, microservices, SOA).
- Hands-on knowledge of integration techniques (RESTful APIs, message queues, ETL).
- Knowledge of government security standards and compliance frameworks (NIST 800-53, FedRAMP, FISMA).
- Proficiency with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud).
- Experience with identity and access management and data encryption.
- Strong understanding of database design (SQL and NoSQL) and data architecture.
Responsibilities
- Develop the overall architecture blueprint and technology roadmap for system modernization.
- Design integration strategies to connect new platforms with legacy systems and external databases.
- Select and recommend appropriate technology stacks (platforms, frameworks, databases).
- Ensure the solution’s design adheres to security and compliance requirements (e.g., NIST, FedRAMP).
- Architect cloud-ready and scalable solutions to handle high volumes of permit data.
- Define API and integration standards for platform interoperability.
- Provide technical oversight during implementation and guide engineering teams.
- Incorporate modern technologies such as AI-driven tools or workflow automation.
- Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and UX designers.
- Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and public sector IT trends.
