Requirements
- 15+ years of progressive experience in data strategy, data governance, or enterprise information management.
- At least five years in a senior leadership or principal consultant capacity.
- Demonstrated track record of establishing a data governance program where no formal program previously existed.
- Deep experience in healthcare IT, including clinical and operational data domains.
- Knowledge of regulatory considerations such as HIPAA and HITRUST.
- Ability to operate without a defined playbook and structure work from first principles.
- Experience working alongside technical cloud platform teams.
- Strong executive presence and stakeholder influence skills.
- Experience leading or embedding within consulting engagements.
- Familiarity with governance tooling (Collibra, Informatica, Alation, or equivalent).
- Conceptual knowledge of cloud-native data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, Azure, AWS, GCP).
- Experience with Epic's analytics ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Design and stand up a modern cloud data governance program from the ground up.
- Define and operationalize data ownership, stewardship structures, and accountability frameworks.
- Lead stakeholder alignment across clinical, operational, IT, legal, and executive leadership.
- Develop policies, standards, and operating procedures for data access, quality, and lifecycle management.
- Establish a data governance council or equivalent governing body.
- Partner with Cloud Platform Leaders to align technical design with process accountability.
- Lead change management strategy and build internal client capabilities.
- Advise on data literacy initiatives.
- Define success metrics for governance maturity.
- Codify learnings into internal methodology frameworks.
