Requirements
- 5+ years of backend or systems engineering experience.
- Strong proficiency in Rust and TypeScript.
- Experience with V8 Isolates and JavaScript runtimes.
- Experience operating infrastructure at scale (e.g., Kubernetes, AWS, Cloudflare Workers, Redis).
- Understanding of edge compute architectures.
- Ability to contribute to open-source software.
- Experience with developer-facing CLIs or front-end tooling (bonus).
Responsibilities
- Evolving Supabase Edge Runtime (Rust-based host).
- Implementing monitoring, alerting, and OpenTelemetry tracing.
- Contributing to upstream open-source projects including Deno.
- Participating in on-call rotations for Edge Functions.
- Managing and improving features like scheduled functions, background tasks, and WebSockets.
- Integrating functions with Auth, Postgres, Storage, and Realtime.
- Expanding functions to support AI inference and MCP servers.
- Improving local development and debugging experience via Supabase CLI.
