Requirements
- Background in healthcare (e.g., medical assistant, medical claims, billing) or insurance verification strongly preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work in high-volume settings.
- Experience with Medicare (A, B, C, D), Medicaid, and commercial payer policies.
- Knowledge of DME and MAC practices preferred.
- Understanding of Medical, Supplemental, and pharmacy insurance benefit practices.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Outlook, Excel).
- Strong customer support and professional communication skills.
- Ability to work independently within established procedures.
- Effective problem-solving and de-escalation capabilities.
- Bilingual skills preferred.
Responsibilities
- Act as first point of contact for inbound calls and determine appropriate action.
- Prepare and complete enrollment applications with high urgency and accuracy.
- Conduct outbound correspondence to support patient and program needs.
- Resolve patient and provider concerns regarding status of assistance requests.
- Perform benefit investigation, including managing rejections, prior authorizations, and appeals.
- Educate patients on insurance options and financial assistance programs.
- Handle escalations and communicate resolutions within client timeframes.
- Maintain detailed interaction records in the database.
- Log reconciliation reports for field requests.
- Research and resolve complex payer, physician office, and pharmacy issues.
