Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance.
- CPA strongly preferred.
- 5+ years of accounting experience in a senior accountant or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including significant experience with ASC 606 revenue recognition.
- Experience reviewing complex contracts and independently forming technical accounting conclusions.
- Experience with retail accounting, including retailer reconciliations, deductions/credits, or large retail partner environments.
- Experience with systems and tools; NetSuite and FloQast are a plus.
- Highly independent work style and strong analytical skills.
- Proactive, questioning mindset.
Responsibilities
- Own and support key aspects of the retail order-to-cash cycle.
- Record and analyze accruals, reserves, deferred revenue, AR-related entries, and other retail-related journal entries.
- Prepare and own monthly close activities.
- Review retail and partnership contracts and assess revenue recognition implications under ASC 606.
- Partner cross-functionally with FP&A, IT/Business Systems, Legal, Sales, Retail Sales, and Logistics.
- Support onboarding of new retail and distribution partners.
- Maintain and improve process documentation.
- Identify process gaps and drive improvements.
- Monitor financial and operational KPIs related to retail accounting.
