Requirements

  • Master’s degree or higher in a relevant field (e.g., public health, epidemiology, informatics, statistics).
  • At least 5 years of experience in infectious disease surveillance and analytics.
  • Demonstrated experience designing, producing, and implementing end-to-end public health information products.
  • Proficiency in R and R Markdown/Quarto for data management, analysis, and report generation.
  • Experience providing technical accompaniment and mentoring multidisciplinary teams in LMICs.
  • Ability to build capacity for local ownership of analytical workflows.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote and distributed environment.
  • Familiarity with DHIS2 (advantageous).
  • Proficiency in French or Portuguese (highly desirable).

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative data use products such as outbreak situation reports, epidemiological bulletins, and executive dashboards.
  • Implement automated production pipelines for data use products.
  • Create comprehensive documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
  • Provide technical accompaniment and mentorship for data use capstone projects.
  • Conduct capacity building and knowledge transfer for in-country teams.
  • Train teams on digital tools including DHIS2, Emergency Management System, R, and R Markdown/Quarto.
