Requirements

  • Commitment to THL’s mission to end the abuse of animals raised for food.
  • Strong understanding of and experience with corporate campaigning or coalition-based advocacy.
  • Proven ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships across diverse cultural and regional contexts.
  • Demonstrated experience managing and developing teams, including setting clear objectives and performance feedback.
  • Ability to lead geographically dispersed staff.
  • Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to build and maintain trust-based relationships.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey strategies to a global network.
  • Data analysis experience using performance insights to assess campaign effectiveness.
  • Intermediate level of English proficiency.
  • Ability to travel internationally/domestically for 6 or more trips per year.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of regional staff, setting clear goals, monitoring performance, and providing ongoing coaching and feedback.
  • Develop and lead the execution of OWA’s strategy across Europe, ensuring alignment with global priorities and organizational goals.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with member organizations, advising on campaign strategy and supporting coordination across countries and regions.
  • Oversee regional program delivery, ensuring effective coordination of campaigns, member support, and coalition initiatives.
  • Collaborate closely with leadership and internal teams to ensure alignment on regional work with broader organizational strategy.
  • Oversee grant decisions in OWA Europe, ensuring funds are allocated to the most impactful areas.
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of OWA Europe’s regional strategies and initiatives.
  • Represent The Humane League and the Open Wing Alliance in the Europe region at conferences, events and external meetings.
