Requirements
- 8–12+ years of progressive enterprise database administration experience.
- Expertise in Db2, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and hybrid cloud environments.
- Strong expertise with IBM mainframe technologies (z/OS, TSO/ISPF, JCL, Db2 utilities).
- Hands-on AWS database experience (RDS, Aurora, EC2, CloudWatch, IAM).
- Advanced database performance tuning and high availability architecture skills.
- Proficiency in scripting (Python, PowerShell, Bash, REXX) and IaC.
- Understanding of security and compliance (RBAC, SOX, PCI DSS, HIPAA, GDPR).
- Experience supporting CI/CD database deployment and DevOps models.
Responsibilities
- Administer, maintain, and optimize enterprise databases across Db2, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and AWS.
- Lead database modernization and migration initiatives, including cloud adoption.
- Implement backup, disaster recovery, replication, and failover strategies.
- Perform advanced performance tuning, query optimization, and capacity planning.
- Build infrastructure-as-code and automation using Terraform, Ansible, Python, and JCL.
- Collaborate with teams to support compliance and operational governance.
- Develop observability and monitoring frameworks for database health.
- Mentor junior engineers and establish operational best practices.
