Requirements
- 7+ years of experience leading geospatial data acquisition and quality management.
- Expertise in geospatial sciences including cartography, GIS, and data management.
- Proven ability to manage vendor relationships and negotiate data licensing contracts.
- Experience developing and applying QA/QC procedures for geospatial datasets.
- Strong analytical, communication, and presentation skills.
- Experience with scripting, automation, and geospatial data processing tools.
- Familiarity with geospatial data standards (e.g., FGDC, ISO) and metadata management.
- Track record managing large-scale data projects with multiple stakeholders.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development and refinement of methodologies for geospatial data collection and maintenance.
- Manage data intake and prioritize needs based on DHS component requirements.
- Maintain and update Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for data acquisition and quality assurance.
- Oversee budget management for high-priority data procurement.
- Define and enforce requirements for geospatial data accuracy, format, and licensing.
- Negotiate licensing agreements and maintain relationships with data providers.
- Lead QA/QC efforts including data validation and application of standardized checklists.
- Oversee data registration, cataloging, and publication within government platforms.
- Inform government stakeholders of any issues impacting cost, schedule, or performance.
