Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience in engineering leadership roles managing engineers and technical teams
  • Proven experience leading teams responsible for large-scale, high-volume distributed systems (messaging, payments, or similar domains)
  • Strong background in platform engineering or internal developer platforms supporting multiple product teams
  • Experience managing operational excellence, including on-call rotations, incident management, and system reliability practices
  • Ability to mentor senior engineers, staff engineers, and engineering managers effectively
  • Strong understanding of system scalability, observability, SLOs, monitoring, and alerting practices
  • Experience working in high-growth SaaS or ecommerce environments is highly preferred
  • Demonstrated success in recruiting, hiring, and developing engineering talent
  • Strong cross-functional communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Familiarity with AI-driven or data-intensive product systems is a plus
  • Passion for building reliable systems that directly impact customer experience and business outcomes

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage a team of engineers responsible for messaging infrastructure, automation workflows, campaign delivery systems, and platform services
  • Own the technical strategy and roadmap for high-volume messaging systems, ensuring scalability, reliability, and cost efficiency
  • Oversee Flow Builder, campaign delivery engines, and core messaging platform components used across multiple product surfaces
  • Manage on-call operations, incident response processes, and postmortems to ensure strong operational excellence
  • Define and improve internal platform standards, contracts, and support models for engineering consumer teams
  • Partner with product, platform, AI, design, compliance, and business stakeholders to deliver aligned and impactful solutions
  • Drive engineering execution, delivery planning, and continuous improvement of development workflows
  • Mentor and develop engineers and engineering managers through coaching, feedback, and career development support
  • Lead hiring, onboarding, and team expansion efforts to strengthen engineering capabilities
  • Champion a culture of reliability, observability, and high-quality engineering practices
