Requirements
- 5+ years of experience as a software engineer
- Experience designing, developing and launching backend systems
- Proficiency in Python or Kotlin
- Familiarity with distributed systems
- Familiarity with AWS
- Familiarity with MySQL
- Familiarity with Kubernetes
- Ability to master taking a simple problem or business scenario into a solution that interacts with multiple software components
- Ability to write clear, easily understood, well tested and extensible code
- Comfortable navigating a large code base and debugging others' code
- Ability to provide feedback to other engineers through code reviews
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Equivalent practical experience or a Bachelor’s degree in a related field
Responsibilities
- Break down larger projects into individual tasks and deliver them in multiple phases.
- Collaborate with others to ensure timely delivery of work.
- Support peers and stakeholders in the product development lifecycle by collaborating with product management, design & analytics.
- Articulate technical constraints and partner on decisions that properly consider risks and trade-offs.
- Contribute to the entire API lifecycle, including designing, developing, testing, maintaining, and evolving our APIs.
- Support the operations and availability of your team’s artifacts by creating and monitoring metrics.
- Escalate when needed and support “keep the lights on” & on-call efforts.
- Contribute to a sense of community on your team by engaging in growth and development activities such as participation in the interview process.
