Requirements
- A bachelor's degree from an accredited university and 2+ years of procurement, supply chain, sourcing, or closely related business experience -OR- Master's degree; in lieu of degree, an additional 4 + years of experience may be considered
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Willingness to support stretch assignments/project as directed
- Strong time management and organizational skills; ability to keep multiple priorities moving forward
- Understanding of federal acquisition thresholds and documentation requirements
- Strong understanding of the procurement process in a government contracting environment
- Experience with an MRP system such as SAP or Costpoint
- Experience with low to moderate value and complexity purchases to include single/sole source with source controlled drawings (Preferred)
- Experience procuring in an engineering development environment (Preferred)
- Experience in Computer IT Hardware & Software commodities with specifications/configurations requirements (Preferred)
- Experience leading negotiations with suppliers (Preferred)
- Basic comprehension of technical drawings and documents (Preferred)
- Knowledge of government contracting requirements and regulations (Preferred)
Responsibilities
- Source and procure materials and services within the Computer IT Hardware & Software commodities
- Execute the procurement process, including sourcing, price analysis, Commercial Item Determination and negotiations, following policies and procedures including the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation Supplement (DFARS)
- Prepare bid packages, analyze and evaluate proposals, negotiate PO provisions, administer resulting PO and ensure on time delivery
- Evaluate and monitor supplier quality and reliability, as well as supplier ability to support required delivery schedules
- Work with internal customers to ensure specifications are appropriate for the services or products required
- Identify strategies and opportunities to reduce costs, improve efficiency and manage risk through targeted negotiations
- Manage performance of purchase orders, ensure compliance with all public law requirements as well as company policies and procedures including import/export regulations
- Interface and collaborate with key stakeholders and other organizations within and outside of Global Supply Chain
- Plan, schedule, and arrange activities to accomplish objectives, demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills and organization
- Employs sound business practices and assesses supplier performance as part of follow-up activities
- Reviews and approves supplier payment as needed to include invoice reconciliation
