Requirements

  • Registered U.S. voter with a deep-seated passion for strengthening American Democracy.
  • Skilled in budget management, financial review, and critical analysis.
  • Ability to commit 4–8 hours per month.
  • High-level communication and networking skills.
  • Collaborative spirit and willingness to support a 100% volunteer workforce.
  • Drive for personal excellence and a desire to do work that makes a measurable difference.
  • 1-3 years of non-profit board experience (preferred).
  • Experience in the democracy/civic tech space (bonus).
  • 5+ years of personnel management experience (preferred).
  • Volunteer management experience (a plus).

Responsibilities

  • Participate in strategic planning and assist in implementing goals and OKRs.
  • Make policy level decisions to deliver on the mission of WeVote.
  • Uphold and champion our Core Values.
  • Support the Co-Executive Directors, provide mentorship and conduct annual performance evaluations.
  • Ensure sustainable resources for WeVote to fulfill its mission through fundraising, budget development, and financial controls.
  • Achieve a specific give/get of $5,000 annually.
  • Recruit and onboard new board members to create a balanced board composition.
  • Regularly attend quarterly board meetings and participate on subcommittees.
  • Oversee existing operational policies to adhere to legal standards and ethical norms, and help establish new ones.
  • Strengthen WeVote’s product and services to deliver on its mission.
  • Enhance WeVote’s Brand/Public Standing by acting as a key link to the community and media.
