Requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)
- Minimum of two (2) years clinical experience
- Experience in pain management (preferred)
- Hands-on experience with Electronic Medical Records
- Understanding of Windows desktop and applications (Microsoft Office 365, Teams, Excel)
- Ability to work in a HIPAA compliant area at home
- Ability to exercise initiative, judgment, organization, time-management, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Skilled in using various computer programs
- Ability to quickly learn new platforms independently with video training
- High Speed Internet (Minimum - Download 18mbsp/Upload 6mbsp)
- Desktop or Laptop computer (Windows or Mac operating system)
- No Chromebooks, iPads or tablets
- Excellent verbal, written and listening skills
- Ability to complete orientation immediately and be actively working within two weeks of hire date
Responsibilities
- Provide telephonic support to enrolled care management patients.
- Perform basic triage and care coordination efforts.
- Assist with pre-authorizations and insurance verifications.
- Listen carefully and gather information from patients.
- Assess the urgency of patient conditions.
- Provide appropriate advice and instructions.
- Document thoroughly all call details in the patient's medical record.
- Maintain professional communication with patients.
- Follow established protocols for telephone triage.
- Refer to appropriate providers when necessary.
- Abide by the plan of care and orders of the practice.
- Provide appropriate care coordination to address patient needs/concerns.
- Develop positive interactions with patients.
- Understand healthcare goals related to pain and chronic disease management.
- Attend regularly scheduled meetings (e.g., Monthly All Hands, 1:1 with supervisor).
