Requirements

  • 8+ years of product management experience in SaaS
  • 2+ years directly in a billing, monetization, or pricing domain
  • Ability to reason about billing stack architecture and co-design with engineering
  • Experience carrying a pricing or packaging change from proposal through to production
  • Experience building or scaling consumption-based monetization
  • Proficiency in SQL, Snowflake, Hex, or equivalent for data analysis
  • Direct experience with Stripe or a metered billing platform (Metronome, Orb, OpenMeter)
  • Ability to hold billing surfaces to high design standards
  • Experience in or adjacent to API, infrastructure, or developer-platform products
  • Ability to independently define and execute long-term vision for billing, fulfillment, and provisioning

Responsibilities

  • Set a multi-year direction for how Konnect prices, meters, entitles, and invoices, sequencing delivery to avoid long-term drag.
  • Build the entitlements model that determines customer access within Konnect, ensuring consistency across contracts, product enforcement, provisioning, and billing.
  • Act as the product and systems counterpart to Monetization, translating pricing decisions into production reality.
  • Run the event pipeline, aggregation layer, and reporting experiences for metering and usage visibility, ensuring financial-grade accuracy and auditability.
  • Own how customers self-serve onto a plan, change plans, renew, lapse, and recover, covering plan discovery, checkout, payments, and admin surfaces.
  • Connect Kong's enterprise sales and channel motions to the billing stack, including CPQ-to-entitlement sync, custom contracts, and marketplace billing.
  • Replace manual provisioning and fulfillment with productized, automated workflows, migrating to a new metering and billing system.
  • Define health metrics for the domain, including net revenue retention, billing-driven churn, invoice dispute rate, and collections aging, to set priorities and ensure team accountability.
