Requirements
- Engineering/software development experience within a Platform group delivering services to internal engineering teams
- Experience working in a cloud environment
- Infrastructure as Code with Terraform/Crossplane
- Familiarity with Kubernetes administration
- Experience/Interest in implementing, integrating, and maintaining observability systems and processes
- Comfortable working in a remote-first company
- Eager to learn and grow
- Approach development holistically (full life cycle of code)
- Experience with operating your code
- Knowledge of Kubernetes and Docker
Responsibilities
- Help internal engineers release software onto infrastructure in secure and measurable ways
- Lead automation of release processes (CI/CD, bootstrapping)
- Help internal engineering teams get on board with 'golden path' techniques
- Assist with edge cases and ensure teams maximize tool utilization
- Set and contribute to the squad's roadmap
- Maintain, improve and extend existing systems
- Choose what to focus on next and when to gracefully sunset systems
- Design, compare, and choose appropriate solutions for IEP, CI/CD, build, release, deployment, and configuration management
- Develop and maintain the Internal Engineering Platform (IEP)
- Manage and develop the CI/CD platform
- Implement build, release and deployment automation
- Develop application configuration management tooling
- Implement "up to date" software automation
- Manage artifacts
- Work with diverse internal teams (application development, security) to support implementation of their requirements
- Be part of an on-call rotation to support Platform tooling
