Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or one-and-one-half (1.5) years of additional experience can substitute for one (1) year of a typical degree program
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in software asset management, IT asset management, procurement, or related IT operations
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Clearance
  • CCSAM certification
  • Experience with Jira for workflow tracking, dashboard creation, and project coordination
  • Experience with BigFix or similar software discovery and endpoint management tools
  • Familiarity with SAM platforms such as ServiceNow SAM, Flexera, Snow, or comparable tools
  • Understanding of licensing models for major vendors (Microsoft, Adobe, Oracle, VMware)
  • Proficiency in Office 365, with strong skills in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis)
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment and manage tasks independently
  • Strong communication skills and comfort facilitating meetings with cross‑functional teams
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze data, solve problems, and maintain attention to detail

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update the software asset inventory, including entitlements, deployments, renewals, and usage data
  • Support software license compliance activities, including internal reviews and vendor audits
  • Track renewals, subscription terms, and maintenance agreements to ensure timely action
  • Analyze usage data to identify optimization opportunities and reduce unnecessary spend
  • Assist with the configuration, data quality, and reporting within SAM tools
  • Collaborate with IT Operations, Procurement, Security, and Finance to validate installations and align software usage with organizational policies
  • Facilitate meetings with stakeholders to review software needs, usage trends, and compliance status
  • Prepare reports and dashboards using Excel and other Office 365 tools
  • Contribute to process documentation and continuous improvement of SAM workflows
