Requirements
- Extensive experience in network or infrastructure automation, platform architecture, or leading large-scale automation programs in complex environments.
- Strong systems and architecture thinking with a track record of simplifying complex concepts and anticipating scale, reliability, governance, and security.
- Demonstrated credibility with technical audiences: public speaking, technical writing, community leadership, or open-source stewardship.
- Practical understanding of AI in operations (e.g., LLMs/agents, RAG/provenance, approvals/guardrails, testing/rollback).
- Ability to separate hype from durable patterns in AI operations.
- Comfort engaging across the ecosystem—customers, partners, open source, and when relevant, standards bodies—and turning external signal into actionable direction.
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative, low-ego approach suitable for a remote-first, async environment.
- Ability to travel for conferences and community events as needed.
- Hands-on participation in IETF or adjacent standards initiatives (Nice-to-Have).
- Familiarity with GitOps, CI/CD for infrastructure, policy-as-code, automated testing, and event-driven workflows (Nice-to-Have).
- Experience building opinionated blueprints/reference implementations that drive adoption (Nice-to-Have).
- Open-source leadership or maintainer experience (Nice-to-Have).
- Background with schema design, data modeling, or versioned sources of truth in automation contexts (Nice-to-Have).
Responsibilities
- Amplify OpsMill’s technical voice in the market through talks, demos, webinars, podcasts, and community events across network/infrastructure automation, platform engineering, and AI for ops.
- Design and deliver compelling technical narratives and live demos that show “what good looks like,” grounded in reference architectures and real practitioner workflows.
- Publish high-signal content—blogs, architecture notes, opinionated frameworks, and reference implementations—that practitioners adopt and cite.
- Define and evolve reference architectures for automation platforms (data models, orchestration, auditability, policy/approvals, change control, testing, rollback).
- Shape the industry conversation on how AI assistants/agents safely interact with infrastructure (trust, guardrails, provenance, RBAC/policy-as-code, verification, canary/rollback).
- Participate in key forums (e.g., Network Automation Forum; relevant IETF groups when applicable); build relationships with customers, partners, SIs, OSS maintainers, and standards participants.
- Partner with Product and Engineering on blueprints, integration patterns, and “getting started” journeys that make Infrahub adoption straightforward (GitOps/CI, policy-as-code, event-driven workflows).
- Collaborate with Marketing to amplify content and ensure narrative consistency, without taking direction on campaign strategy or execution.
