Requirements
- 2+ years of Professional Substation Engineering design experience designing high/medium voltage power distribution, physical design, transmission line design, etc.
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
- Engineering in Training (EIT) certification preferred.
- Valid Electrical Professional Engineer (PE) license a plus.
- Experience working independently, managing priorities and providing mentorship to junior staff.
- Strong understanding of electrical codes.
- Ability to think strategically and demonstrate flexibility in order to achieve long-range objectives.
- Self-motivated, comfortable with ambiguity and motivated to work as a team and lead others.
- Top-notch organization, attention to detail combined with excellent written and oral communication skills.
- Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, BIM, and Revit.
Responsibilities
- Independently drive physical designs for electrical substations throughout design and construction phases (both new construction and upgrades/retrofits).
- Design high and medium voltage electrical distribution for large scale data center campuses.
- Oversee the production of one-line diagrams, conceptual designs, plan-section drawings, foundation, grounding, specifications, and any additional drawings needed to complete a comprehensive set of construction documents to build substations of varying sizes.
- Work amongst a cross-discipline design team, owners, and contractors to develop drawings and specifications.
- Coordinate with external vendors, internal design teams and manufacturers.
- Major equipment selection and scheduling.
- Lead QA/QC process and sign off on engineering documents.
- Perform substation testing and commissioning as needed.
- Develop proposals (scope of work, estimate, etc.).
