Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, business, risk management, or related field
  • 3+ years management liability, Tech E&O, and/or Cyber Liability underwriting experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to follow established guidelines regarding state and federal insurance regulations
  • Knowledge of policy language, risk criteria and legal concepts for designated lines of business
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in all Google Suite products
  • Ability to work cross-culturally on a global team
  • Ability to perform at a high-level in a remote work environment

Responsibilities

  • Underwrite business that falls outside of the online quoting platform
  • Expand the appetite of the online quoting platform
  • Optimize the portfolio
  • Assist the Insurance Product Team in refining risk and product/market fit and strategic initiatives
  • Perform production underwriting associated with all referrals for new and renewal business for private company management liability, Tech E&O, Cyber Liability, and MPL
  • Set profitable terms, conditions, and pricing for referrals
  • Assess manual underwriting trends to ensure profitability and translate learning into a digitized experience
  • Analyze insurance applications, supporting documents, and background information to assess the level of risk
  • Make sound underwriting decisions regarding acceptance, modification, or rejection of risks
  • Develop and adjust premiums and coverage limits accordings to risk assessment
  • Work closely with brokers, agents, and clients to explain coverage, premium determinations, and policy terms
  • Manage and monitor an assigned portfolio of insurance policies
  • Liaise with the Claims, Actuarial, and Insurance Product Teams to maintain updated and accurate pricing models
  • Collaborate with Account Executives and Customer Success Managers
  • Ensure that all underwriting decisions and processes comply with state regulations and company standards
  • Utilize data and analytics to identify trends, review portfolio performance, and make recommendations for improving underwriting guidelines
  • Stay informed about industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes
  • Assist the Insurance Product Team in project work that drives growth, scale, and insurance profitability
