Manager, Engineering (Nova)

At least 5 years of hands-on software development experience. At least 3 years of experience managing and growing software engineering teams. Strong background in application or platform engineering, ideally in a SaaS environment. Experience leading teams that integrate AI or ML-powered capabilities into production systems. Comfort operating at the intersection of product, platform, and data science teams. Strong technical judgment across system design, APIs, distributed systems, and developer workflows. Experience working with modern backend and frontend stacks. Ability to navigate ambiguity, make pragmatic trade-offs, and drive execution across multiple initiatives. Excellent communication skills and ability to align technical work with business and product goals.

Lead and support a team of engineers building agentic and AI-enabled product experiences. Partner closely with Product, Design, and Data Science leadership to translate AI capabilities into scalable, user-facing experiences. Guide the design and implementation of agent workflows, orchestration logic, and application integrations. Ensure AI-powered features are reliable, observable, secure, and ready for production use. Drive execution across multiple initiatives, balancing short-term delivery with sustainable technical direction. Foster strong engineering practices around code quality, testing, documentation, and iterative delivery. Coach and mentor engineers, supporting career growth and healthy team dynamics. Collaborate with other engineering and data teams to align on interfaces, dependencies, and shared goals. Contribute to hiring and onboarding as the team grows.
