Requirements:
Basic knowledge of medical terminology, medical equipment, HIPAA compliance, and OSHA rules and regulations. 2 years of experience with applicable patient care and administrative duties preferred. Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) by AAMA, Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) by AMT, National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) by NCCT, Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) by NHA, Medical Assistant Certification (MAC) by AMCA, or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant by NAHP. State of Colorado Emergency Medical Technician license. State of Colorado Licensed Registered Nurse or valid compact state license. State of Colorado Licensed Practical Nurse or valid compact state license. State of Colorado Certified Nurse Aide license.
Responsibilities:
Field patient phone calls and voicemails promptly. Address patient portal and EHR messages within acceptable timeframes. Communicate with providers or team members regarding patient questions. Receive and process patient refill requests. Manage provider’s patient portal messages. Close loop with patients on requests, questions, or concerns. Ensure accuracy and proper documentation in the patient’s EHR. Communicate with clinical care team as needed.
