Requirements:
4+ years of experience managing senior backend and frontend engineers. Proven ability to develop, mentor, and retain engineering talent. Manage performance with clarity and empathy. Lead with low ego, openness, and belief in autonomy. Solid understanding of backend systems, distributed architectures. Experience with scalable service design. Ability to participate in architectural discussions and guide teams. Rely on collaboration with senior and staff engineers/architects. Understand SQL, relational database concepts, and modern backend practices. Confident reviewing high-level designs and evaluating trade-offs. Thrive in remote, distributed, and cross-functional environments. Partner effectively with product managers, designers, and business stakeholders. Ask the right questions, identify risks, challenge assumptions. Influence through clarity and context rather than authority. Cultivate a culture focused on ownership and reliability. Promote modern engineering practices, clear processes. Foster transparency, feedback, and knowledge-sharing. Self-directed, aligned with objectives, comfortable navigating ambiguity. Excellent English skills. Based in a European time zone. Degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
Responsibilities:
Manage and support engineers across Customer Success and Delivery & Returns teams. Conduct 1:1s, mentor engineers, and support their growth. Build psychological safety and enable ownership. Facilitate technical discussions and architecture reviews. Ensure teams produce high-quality engineering outcomes. Work with Product and cross-functional partners to define goals and roadmaps. Identify and resolve blockers, surface risks. Contribute to company and squad-level planning. Maintain communication loops with manager and leadership. Communicate progress transparently. Strengthen engineering culture through feedback and knowledge sharing. Encourage experimentation and adoption of modern tools. Promote collaboration across engineering teams.
