Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree. Minimum of 5 years of experience in corporate or partnership tax, M&A tax, international tax, financial instruments, controversy, or structured transaction analysis. Strong written communication skills and the ability to convert technical complexity into actionable insights. Demonstrated experience managing engagements, budgets, and client workflows. CPA license, JD, or EA (or CPA eligibility if applicable). Knowledge of digital-asset market structure, blockchain fundamentals, token mechanics, or on-chain analytics tools preferred but not required. Ability to work remotely or in a hybrid model and to travel up to approximately 20 percent. Curiosity, adaptability, and a demonstrable interest in crypto, DeFi, blockchain infrastructure, or emerging financial technology.
Responsibilities:
Advise clients on entity structuring, tokenomics, sourcing rules, transaction characterization, revenue recognition, and cross-border tax implications. Conduct and review advanced tax research, agreements, models, and filings associated with digital-asset transactions and business models. Present complex concepts clearly to founders, executives, investment teams, and legal counsel. Translate industry developments, market structure considerations, and protocol mechanics into impactful tax strategies. Stay attuned to market trends, regulatory shifts, developments in DeFi and stablecoin design, token-economics structures, and broader institutional adoption of blockchain technologies. Lead or co-author thought-leadership materials such as white papers, executive briefs, technical alerts, and market commentary. Interpret industry developments and emerging technologies to inform client strategies, tax planning approaches, and internal guidance frameworks. Deliver presentations and educational content that clearly articulate complex digital-asset issues. Partner with practice leaders to establish thematic priorities, publication pipelines, and coordinated external messaging. Serve as the primary engagement manager for advisory and compliance projects. Oversee timelines, budgets, resourcing, staff development, and quality control. Ensure deliverables meet BPM’s standards across technical accuracy, documentation, and communication. Train and mentor staff on both tax fundamentals and digital-asset concepts. Support the development of internal technical frameworks and knowledge-management systems. Promote a learning culture through structured feedback and hands-on coaching. Participate in client and engagement pursuits, including scoping, proposal development, and pitch meetings. Represent BPM through webinars, conference speaking engagements, podcasts, roundtables, and other industry events. Produce educational materials for enterprise clients, partner organizations, and industry groups. Support ecosystem relationships, including strategic alliances, technology partners, and regulatory or policy-education initiatives.
