Staff Design Engineer

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. 8+ years of experience in product development of connected hardware products. Experience leading full product lifecycles from concept through mass production with OEM and JDM partners. Experience capturing requirements, writing specifications, and creating system architectures for connected hardware products. Proficiency with CAD tools for 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and schematics. Hands-on experience building and testing prototypes. Strong background in DFMA, design and process FMEA, and phase-gate NPI processes. Proven track record interfacing with manufacturers and JDM/ODM partners. Working knowledge of hardware regulatory standards (safety, EMC, wireless) and certification. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Adaptable to a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Manage hardware product development efforts from concept to mass production. Define clear product requirements and specifications. Develop system- and subsystem-level specifications and architecture. Own end-to-end product development across electrical, mechanical, and firmware. Serve as technical contact for JDM partners, directing and resolving issues. Drive Design for Excellence (DfX), including DFMA, DFT, and DFR. Develop test plans, oversee prototyping, and lead verification activities. Coordinate regulatory and certification activities. Support builds at manufacturing sites and drive corrective actions. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
