Staff Design Engineer

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field. 8+ years of experience in product development of connected hardware products. Experience leading full product lifecycles from concept through mass production. Experience with OEM and JDM partners. Demonstrated experience capturing requirements, writing specifications, and creating system architectures for connected hardware products. Proficiency with CAD tools to develop 3D models, manufacturing drawings, and schematics. Hands-on experience building and testing prototypes. Experience developing verification and validation plans. Strong background in DFMA, design and process FMEA, and phase-gate NPI processes. Proven track record interfacing with manufacturers and JDM/ODM partners. Working knowledge of hardware regulatory standards (e.g., safety, EMC, wireless). Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Manage hardware product development from concept to mass production. Define product requirements and specifications. Develop system- and subsystem-level specifications and architecture documents. Oversee end-to-end product development across electrical, mechanical, and firmware. Serve as the primary technical point of contact for contract manufacturers. Drive Design for Excellence (DfX) mindset (DFMA, DFT, DFR). Develop test plans and lead verification activities. Coordinate regulatory and certification activities. Support manufacturing builds and drive corrective actions. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
