Requirements:
Minimum 15 years of experience in electrical and mechanical engineering. At least 5 years in a leadership role within the data center or mission-critical industry. Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) in a relevant discipline (preferred but not required). Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or a related field. Extensive experience in design-assist and design-build construction. Expertise in MEP disciplines. Working knowledge of low voltage BMS, EPMS, IT, security, and life safety systems. Understanding of utility service requirements. In-depth knowledge of data center QAQC and commissioning processes. Proven ability to lead and manage a team of engineers. Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills. Collaborative nature with decision-making ability. Strong knowledge of building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards. Proficiency in engineering design software, construction management tools, cloud-based commissioning platforms, and financial management software. Ability and willingness to travel in the US and Canada.
Responsibilities:
Provide expert technical engineering guidance for data center projects. Serve as a primary point of contact for consulting engineers. Review and update engineering basis of design documents. Conduct audits and enhancements of design and build standards. Assess and update owner furnished equipment specifications. Interface with the supply chain group. Work directly with internal Cologix DCIM, IT, and security teams. Interface with construction and operations teams. Develop and implement company training plans. Recruit, train, and provide technical leadership to internal engineering personnel. Oversee engineering group capital costs and personnel resources. Prepare consultant design budgets for new projects. Support the energy strategy group in technical discussions. Support the business strategy group in due diligence. Collaborate with internal and external teams to enhance processes. Develop data-driven designs and equipment specifications. Review project documents for quality and consistency. Conduct site walks during construction. Work closely with the commissioning team.
