Requirements:
6+ years of commercial or specialty insurance underwriting experience. 2+ years of experience managing teams. University degree in Business, Analytics, or similar field is preferable. CIP/CAIB, CRM, FCIP designations are an asset. Strong proficiency with Google Workspace and Excel, or similar office tools. Experience using Zendesk, Slack, and Salesforce is an asset. Exceptional problem-solving and analytical skills. Advanced written and verbal communication skills. Strong collaboration skills, ability to take the lead in group settings. A commitment to continuous improvement, learning and knowledge sharing.
Responsibilities:
Manage team volumes and headcount forecasting, identify operational and technology opportunities. Drive team performance improvements by refining processes and meeting SLAs/KPIs. Manage broker relationships to promote trust and collaboration. Collaborate with stakeholders to improve end-to-end processes. Serve as a resource for complex underwriting questions. Stay updated on industry trends to deliver underwriting excellence. Maintain data integrity for underwriting processes. Supervise, manage, and guide underwriters and assistants. Develop and monitor team goals and performance metrics. Identify improvement areas and growth opportunities for team members. Promote knowledge sharing and a safe work environment. Foster cross-team collaboration and transparent communication. Foster continuous learning and improvement.
