Staff Product Engineer (Ruby on Rails)

Many years of Ruby on Rails experience Proven track record of building and shipping production Rails apps Stripe experience (billing, subscriptions, webhooks) Product thinker Good design sense (functional and polished UI with TailwindCSS) Security-minded (understanding authentication, authorization, common vulnerabilities) Up to date with Rails, Ruby, and AI developments Compounding mindset Comfortable with performance debugging Great writer (for PRs, docs, code comments) Self-directed Fluent in English, written and spoken BSc or higher in CS or equivalent technical field Terraform experience (nice to have) AWS infrastructure familiarity (nice to have) Experience at scale (billions of requests) (nice to have) Open-source contributions in the Rails ecosystem (nice to have)

Own the hardest PRs (complex features, tricky refactors, performance-critical code) Review other engineers' PRs to raise the bar and mentor through code review Build enterprise features (SAML, SCIM, audit logs, permissions) Work on billing and payments (Stripe integrations, subscription logic) Create and iterate on product features (API playground, dashboard improvements) Develop in-house algorithms Debug and optimize performance (memory profiling, CPU profiling, query optimization) Work with native gems and low-level bindings Ship frontend with good design sense using TailwindUI Maintain security standards Stay current with Rails and AI developments Oversee other engineers' work (as role grows) Make architectural decisions (as role grows) Gain production access and work with Terraform (as role grows) Lead new projects or pivots (as role grows)
