Senior Backend (Go) Engineer, Gitlab Delivery -Operate

Experience running backend services in production environments, including deploying, monitoring, and operating systems built on Kubernetes and Helm Advanced proficiency with Go Ability to work in Ruby as a plus Hands-on practice with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform Managing infrastructure across major cloud providers like GCP, AWS, or Azure Practical experience designing, operating, and troubleshooting databases, especially PostgreSQL Understanding of secure, scalable, and supportable deployment practices Familiarity with observability tools and patterns, such as Prometheus and Grafana Experience collaborating within large codebases and working effectively with distributed, cross-functional teams Ability to write clear, user-focused documentation and implementation guides

Maintain and evolve the Omnibus GitLab package Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of GitLab Helm Charts Enhance and extend the GitLab Environment Toolkit (GET) and GitLab Operator Improve installation, upgrade, and day-to-day operations workflows Partner with Security to address vulnerabilities Build and maintain automation and CI/CD pipelines Collaborate with Distribution Engineers, SREs, Release Managers, and Development teams Create and maintain clear, user-focused documentation Provide technical leadership by guiding architectural decisions and mentoring engineers
