Requirements:
Preference for experience in anti-hunger/nutrition benefits screening (esp. for SNAP) and/or working in/for low-income communities. High-energy self-starter with strong communications, problem-solving, organizing, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrated commitment to fighting poverty and hunger. Relevant work experience or lived experience with hunger is preferred. Proficiency using Microsoft Office programs like Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Bilingual candidates a plus (Spanish, Pashto, Dari, or Arabic are a plus).
Responsibilities:
Provide in-person and remote SNAP eligibility screenings and application assistance. Connect clients to other nutrition programs and refer them to food pantries and soup kitchens. Attend community events for outreach, conduct screenings, and present on SNAP and other nutrition benefits. Conduct follow-up to ensure applicants receive correct benefits and resolve issues. Document all client interactions in the mRelief “Johnnie” database.
