Freelance 3D Gummy Mold Designer

Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in mechanical engineering, industrial design, product design, or a related field. Proven experience in 3D CAD design for manufacturing (preferably mold design, tooling, or product injection/manufacturing tooling). Strong proficiency with SolidWorks and/or UG NX (UG) for precise modeling, assembly management, and STEP file generation. Demonstrated ability to design with manufacturability in mind (parting lines, draft angles, ejector pin layout, material shrinkage, etc.). Comfortable working on relatively small-scale, high-precision molds. Ability to collaborate remotely with a small internal design team.

Convert concept designs into detailed 3D CAD mold-models. Work in SolidWorks and/or UG NX to produce manufacturable designs. Apply scale and accuracy checks relevant to gummy manufacturing. Create 3D design files and blueprints, owning the workflow from prototype design onward. Collaborate with in-house designers and external teams. Provide deliverables in agreed formats (SolidWorks native files, STEP files) and documentation. Ensure mold designs are production-ready, meeting physical constraints. Assist with revision cycles based on prototyping feedback.
