Senior Software Engineer (Search Platform) - Poland

5+ years of experience as a backend or platform engineer working on large-scale, distributed systems Experience with at least one modern server-side stack (e.g., Python, Java, Kotlin, Node) Proven experience with Elasticsearch and/or OpenSearch is highly preferred Solid understanding of vector databases, search infrastructure, indexing strategies, and query optimization Hands-on experience with production observability and reliability Practical knowledge of caching and performance tuning for networked services and search-heavy workloads Strong communication skills and comfort working in a remote-first, asynchronous environment

Design and build platform services and tooling for search Define conventions for document modeling, index design, query patterns, and ranking Own and evolve search infrastructure focusing on scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency Partner with product squads on search-backed features Implement and improve search observability, query optimization, caching, and fallbacks Participate in system design and architecture discussions Mentor engineers in search concepts and distributed systems
