Cost Accountant

2-4 years of progressive accounting experience at a CPG manufacturing company. Advanced knowledge of Excel. NetSuite experience required. Knowledge of GAAP and its implications. Strong presentation and communication (verbal and written) skills. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions. Excellent problem-solving skills and critical thinking. Detail-oriented, organized, and mathematically proficient. Ability to multi-task several important priorities simultaneously. Strong team player with a “can-do” attitude. Demonstrated ability to drive continuous improvement and solve problems in a team environment. Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills. BS or BA in Finance, Accounting or other analytical field preferred. CPA or CMA a big plus.

Monitor and track operational costs, including product, freight, and logistics expenses. Own the invoicing process with co-manufacturers, including tolling variances and raw material chargebacks. Collaborate with Accounting and Operations teams to collect, analyze, verify, and report accurate information. Manage accrued purchases. Support Operations budget and forecast activities. Develop cost estimates and product P&Ls for new products or projects. Recommend changes to reduce costs and improve profitability. Analyze general ledger variances and suggest corrective action. Assist with ad hoc projects as needed.
