At least 4 years of professional experience in cost estimation. Ability to analyze blueprints and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. Ability to confer with engineers, architects, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates. Ability to collect historical cost data to estimate costs for current or future products. Ability to assess cost effectiveness of products, projects or services. Ability to consult with clients, vendors, personnel in other departments, or construction foremen. Ability to establish and maintain tendering process, and conduct negotiations. Ability to prepare estimates for use in selecting vendors or subcontractors. Ability to prepare estimates used by management for planning, organizing, and scheduling work. Ability to set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures. Ability to review material and labor requirements. Ability to prepare cost and expenditure statements. Ability to conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data or to reduce cost. Ability to visit site and record information about access, drainage and topography, and availability of utility services. Ability to prepare and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors and subcontractors. Ability to use remote sensing technologies or drones to evaluate site conditions. Ability to participate in asynchronous work in partnership with leading AI labs.
